This armored combat is a choreography, done by Arne Koets and his wife Katja Bergh, to reconstruct the third duel of Tirant lo Blanch.
"The Knights entered the field in the usual order, and once the bells rang out off the judges ordered that they be released, and with the valor and effort befitting knights they went against each other with swords in their hands, looking like lions, and carrying little axes on the ring in the saddle’s arçon.
They came very close to each other, and Tirant threw a thrust at him, beneath the arm, opening a great wound. As Tirant saw that he was losing a lot of blood, he hasted his sword into the reign hand, pulled out the axe and started to overwhelm him with vicious strikes. The [other] knight trying to return his sword into the scabbard but he couldn’t. Tirant gave him such extreme strikes that he disturbed him greatly. The other knight had to put his sword under his arm and tried to take the axe [...] so he couldn’t turn his horse away. Tirant had given him so many strikes to the arm that he let it hang over the horse’s neck, as he couldn’t bring it up. The last blow he gave him to the head, caving in the sallet inside his skull, so the brains came out the eyes and ears, and dead he fell off his horse.”
