What's new with the Google Nest Mini Smart Speaker 6 months after launch! Google is currently giving YouTube Music Subscribers a free Google Nest Mini while supplies last! The Google Nest Mini is the 2nd generation of the Google Home Mini and there are a few key differences that I will be sure to go over in this video. The Nest Mini is an absolute must-have in today's fast-paced world of tech! Thanks, Google!

The fabric of the 2nd generation Google Home Mini is made of 100% recycled plastic bottles, and the base is made of 35% recycled plastic. The new smart speaker also has 40% more bass and sounds much clearer than the Google Home Mini. It's got an additional far-field microphone for better voice recognition at greater distances, and there's new LEDs that tell where to tap for the volume. While audio is playing on the 2nd generation Google Home Mini, if you hover your hand over the speaker, the volume LEDs light up so that you know exactly where to press.

Lastly, if you already have a Google Home Mini, I would say that there is no urgent need to upgrade to the Google Nest Mini. The one thing that makes these devices capable of what they are is the Google Assistant and they share the same software functionality in that regard. If you want something that sounds a lot better and has much better sound, I would check out the Google Home Max.
