The Tiger Force was created in November 1965 at the initiative of Major David Hackworth, a veteran of World War II and the Korean War. For this officer, it was necessary for the United States Army to have a group of soldiers that imitated the combat tactics of the Vietcong, the communist guerrillas. They were hiding in the jungle, waiting for the right moment to pounce on the North American troops, just when they least expected it.
