The concern with water fluoridation is that all ages of the population drink fluoride internally in the body. Fluoridation directly to the teeth and fluoride toothpaste is an important part of dental health in children to help prevent cavities. Fluoride treatment is not necessary for adult oral health and fluoride accumulation in the body can lead to other health concerns.
