Join us as we begin our journey from Guadalajara on a weekend trip to experience Day of the Dead at Island Janitzio near Patzcuaro in Michoacan state Mexico. Our first stop, Morelia - named after José María Morelos who was a locally born independence leader. It is a UNESCO world heritage site and is home to over 200 pink facade buildings (from the quarried rock in the area). Here we eat lunch and explore the main plaza before we continue our trip to Patzcuaro and Janitzio for night of the dead (next episode).
