Watchmaker Series: How to Disassemble A Rolex Crown - Rolex Datejust Revival Project Part 1

Описание к видео Watchmaker Series: How to Disassemble A Rolex Crown - Rolex Datejust Revival Project Part 1

In this series of videos we bring a Rolex Datejust back to life starting with its first issue!

If you have a Rolex watch and the crown rotates but does not wind the watch or set the time when you turn it, unless you pull it out further this would likely be a damaged crown spring or piston clutch ring. This vintage Rolex Datejust has the same issue and we take a look at repairing it before it is serviced.

To fix the broken crown spring/crown you can disassemble it using this guide by our watchmaker. The spring can be replaced with a new spring and re assembled for use once again.

As spare parts are no longer available to independent watchmakers or swapping the crown may reduce the originality of the watch such as brevet crowns, you can use this method to fix and renew the crown for use.
