Three week old chihuahua puppies, What can you expect? | Sweetie Pie Pets

This litter of Chihuahua puppies is now 3 weeks old. At this point, you can consider them "toddlers." Their eyes are open now, and their legs are strong enough that they can become quite mobile. In fact, you may start hearing them whine a bit when they crawl out of bed. At 3 weeks, puppies will start teething, but it's important NOT to try feeding them any food. Puppies still need to drink only momma's milk. (Momma's got this!)

Most importantly, you will start to see their personalities emerge. I am a firm believer that puppies are mostly "born" with their personalities. We can help shape and mold them, helping puppies to build trust with their humans. And human touch is vital!
Make sure you get references from a family breeder or hobby breeder. They should be more than happy to provide you with them.
Avoid backyard breeders who don't socialize their puppies. And rescues, which AGAIN is an honorable thing to do, is risky. I have rescued dogs in the past, many dogs. And often times those dogs are very anxious, self-injurious, or worse, aggressive.
