Noise test: regular drywall vs. soundproof drywall

How effective is soundproof drywall versus regular 5/8-inch drywall? Does wall insulation reduce noise? Are two layers of drywall better than one? Soundproofist runs some tests on a simulated piece of wall to see which solution is best when you want to stop outside noise from coming into your home. You'll see and hear the difference.

In these examples, we'll test some hollow drywall versus a wall with:
Rockwool insulation and 5/8-inch drywall
Rockwool insulation and 1/2-inch QuietRock
Rockwool insulation with a layer of silicone against both types of drywall
Rockwool insulation, silicone, and both types of drywall layered together
