Hi. In this video, I show you a fluorescent tube that has one of these electrodes cut off. Although the electrode is broken, the tube continues to work thanks to a dead choke. The ballast puts it to make a big noise because the fluorescent tube continues its end of life. The fluorescent tube reacts to this cut electrode problem and sends large discharges to the two electrodes.
