MY FIRST TIME in Indonesia 🇮🇩 Jakarta SURPRISED Me!

Join me as I explore Jakarta, Indonesia for the FIRST TIME! Quite a culture SHOCK!

First Impressions from my first day in Jakarta Indonesia. What really confused me is central area, I was always assuming central Jakarta is where the modern part of the city is, so I was quite shocked that I didn't see modern city there lol. It was my mistake, to think that in this massive city like Jakarta there is only one central area.

I stayed in hotel nearby Monas just a bit north-west from there, so I explored from my hotel to Roxy where they sell electronics to find my sim-card to find out that my phone is not opened by immigration. You can do that in Airport or in Official telecom shop, so I ended up getting it from official shop on other day.

I tried some local foods like Sate Padang and some rice wrap thing, I don't even know the name of that dish, but it was actually pretty good. After long walk to Central Park Mall I found out that they needed my passport for unlocking my phone.. and yeah sadly I didn't bring my passport with me..

So I started my 5km walk back to my hotel from Central Park Mall, it was long journey, but I was excited to see more of Jakarta. I ended up going to Alfamart/Indomart for some quick snack, I grabbed some bananas and chocolate called beng-beng, also some water to flush it all down.

Close to my hotel I found a Tofu stand and I had heard about this legendary street food before so I had excited to give it a try. It was a bit sour tasting, but actually quite interesting so I surely enjoyed it. I didn't take chilly this time with it, I really recommend biting some chilly with that tofu as it really goes well with it.

After that I headed back to my hotel to get some well needed rest after long walk in city of Jakarta and that concluded my day in Indonesia.
