Custom Lists in Excel are really useful ! It saves you lot of time and effort in copying long lists to other places or files. Using custom lists is another way of avoiding typing mistakes in Excel !

As we already know that we have two built-in lists in Excel - 1) Month Names (January, February...) 2) Names of days (Sunday, Monday...). If you type any month name or day name and drag it in any direction using fill handle, you get other month or day names.
What if we also have a list that we want to use may times? Usually, we copy the list from some other file and paste in the other file. But now, we can also create our own custom list.
Here we are taking example of staff members. Once the list is created, it is globally available. You can type the name of any staff member and drag it using fill handle / mouse, and you will get all the names.
You can add many such lists. For example, list of departments, account names, stock items, etc.
