A coworker’s girlfriend recently reached out to see if I could make a small tool pouch for him and he had sent her one he saw on Amazon, but she said she would rather have one hand made by someone he knows…So, I got to work! Conceptually I knew how it should go together but I just figured out the exact measurements and design as I went. Once I figured out the rough shape of all the parts, I added some dye and finish for some color. For the pencil slots, I glued and stitched down the center of the piece first. Then I used the pencil and a scribe to figure out two outer stitch lines. Next, I punched out the tape measure slot’s rivet holes. And then used a circle punch to cut a slot to quickly grab the tape measure. I also made a quick utility knife slot to attach to the side. Then I used a combination of punches to refine the shape of the pouch. Finally, I cut the belt loop slots and added a d-ring to other side. And then attached everything together with the rivets.
