Forces News has been given exclusive access into the science facility which is used to test all military kit before it is sent out to Afghanistan. The Environment Chamber at the Defence Science and Technology Laboratories in Porton Down can replicate some of the conditions troops face on the frontline. The staff there work to ensure personnel are as comfortable as possible while operating in the tough conditions of Helmand and beyond.
