This is my black Hokkien Mee, which is much darker than the yellow Singaporean version. Follow my recipe so you can enjoy the intense and rich flavors of the pork lard, seafood and soy sauce along with the lovely seafood.
➡️ There are three main iterations of Hokkien Mee, this one is the Malaysian style which I find to be more flavorful and well worth the time and effort it takes to prepare.
This dish has been enjoyed all over Asia for almost a hundred years and it’s easy to see (and taste) why!

The richness of the sauce and pork lard may be too much for some, but I can’t resist the beautiful taste along with the fresh prawn and squid. It’s a winning combination!
