I had a maintenance request for a toilet that kept running every minute or two. Based on the description, I knew it was the flapper or seal. They didn't supply a photo, so luckily I had a 2" flapper, 3" flapper and 3 different styles of canister style flush valve seals on me which covers probably 95% of toilets. This one ended up being a Mansfield canister style flush valve that uses a seal ring instead of a traditional flapper. Over time the rubber seal, like a flapper, wears down from the chlorine and chemicals added to the water to make it safe and this one was definitely worn out. I'm not sure if the original shrank down a bunch or if somebody replaced it in the past with a different ring. Either way, the Korky seal for Mansfield style toilet flush valvves I used did the trick.

Note: You will need to verify the brand of toilet / style of flush valve for these rings since there are a few different sizes. This Mansfield one is much larger than the Kohler for example.
