Today we are diving into a deck that completely shut down the competition at the recent Tournament of Doom, securing an impressive 15th place finish out of over 350 players! We are piloting the exact list used by Joshie207, which features one of the most annoying and effective control combinations in the current meta: Iron Thorns ex and Crustle.

This deck is built to be an absolute wall. The strategy starts with Iron Thorns ex and its "Initialization" Ability, which completely shuts down the Abilities of all Pokémon with a Rule Box, effectively silencing the biggest threats in the game. To make things even more difficult for our opponent, we pair this with Crustle, whose "Mysterious Rock Inn" Ability prevents it being attacked by ex Pokemon, turning our board into a fortress. When you slap a Luxurious Cape on Crustle to boost their HP and use Team Rocket's Watchtower to control the stadium war, it becomes nearly impossible for the opponent to find a way through.

What makes this specific list so interesting is the inclusion of Crispin and Lillie's Determination to ensure we have the exact Energy and resources needed to keep the pressure on while the opponent is locked out of their own strategy. It is a slow, methodical, and incredibly "toxic" playstyle that punishes decks relying on heavy Ability engines.
