Developed as a private venture by Sopwith, the Triplane- no formal nickname -would prove very successful for how few were built and how limited its service history was. This plane would reap such a toll on German flyers, and do it so quickly, that it would spawn a triplane craze in response to it.

Eventually resulting in the far more famous and well known (thanks, Red Baron) Fokker Dr.I.
