The new millennium man is tied up in knots.

Versace also took the high road for her new winter collection, aimed at a customer so well off that he can afford gold logos on the heels of his shoes. He can't live without his faded jeans, but goes out in the cold in a mink-lined jacket or a sheepskin coat dipped in gold.

The shows pulsating soundtrack was provided by pop star and fashion icon, BOY GEORGE, and attended by the a jet-set crowd, including actor RUPERT EVERETT, racing driver EDDIE IRVINE and AC Milan soccer ace, IBRAHIM BA.

VIVIENNE WESTWOOD, who sprung to fame dressing the wild boys of punk rock in plastic trousers, torn t-shirts and tartan kilts, has graduated to rebels of a previous generation, the full-fledged dandy of 1920s England.

Not for nothing did the eccentric English designer chose a hall of Milan's state university to show her latest collection, which recreates life at Oxford in the 1920s complete with wide knickerbockers, tweed jackets and plaid kilts.
