The Sangod Utsav of Cumbarjua is a tradition that has been active for the last 200 years, where a temple took care of a family's needs because they could not celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi due to financial conditions.

Sangod in Konkani means a combination of wooden boats tied together. People wear body paint and celebrate this festival by painting and decorating multiple boats, which is led by the temple Sangod which hosts the Temple Ganesh idol.

This is one of the most unique traditions that takes place during Ganesh Chaturthi in Goa. This is also referred to as the Boat Festival of Goa. Though the temple is located in Marcel, the visarjan boat festival happens in the Cumbarjua canal.

This video is a small step in ensuring those stories get the praise they deserve.This video combines the information I collected about the tradition on my own and the clips my team and I shot across Goa.
