00:26 | North American Senior Hurling Challenge
In Illinois, Chicago GAA hosted the North American Senior Hurling Challenge. Senior hurling teams from across the USA and Canada competed. The final match was a repeat of the San Francisco GAA final between Tipperary and Na Fianna with Na Fianna winning. And Chicago’s Windy City Hurling Club won the shield final.

In New York, the Junior and Senior New York Camogie Finals were held at Gaelic Park in the Bronx.

Annie Moore's became back-to-back Senior Camogie champions. And Rockland GAA won in the Junior Final.

In BC, another fame-hungry bear interrupted a St. Finnian’s match in Vancouver. This is a riveting sequel to last month’s bear news when several bears interrupted another match.

01:59 | CYC
In Massachusetts, the Continental Youth Championships (CYC) was held in Boston from July 11-14. Over 2000 youth players from 18 North American cities participated at the Irish Cultural Centre in Canton. The CYC is the largest youth Gaelic Games tournament outside of Ireland and started in 2004.

02:15 | Joe Hurd Tournament
In Illinois, Naperville’s Joe Hurd Memorial Tournament was held on July 13th. 100 players from 10 clubs participated to celebrate the life of former Naperville Hurling Club president, Joe Hurd.

02:26 | First Hurling Match in LA
In California, the first official hurling match to be played in Los Angeles since 2012 was played in July between the LA Hurling Club and Phoenix Brian Boru. The match was held in the heart of Santa Monica and had a great attendance of players and spectators.

02:42 | Liberty Bell Championships
In Pennsylvania, Philadelphia Youth GAA hosted the 11th Annual Liberty Bell Championships for children aged U6-U18.

02:51 | Give Them A Hurl
For our segment, Give Them A Hurl, the BBC broadcast the All-Ireland Hurling Final for the first time introducing it to a new audience. And people got very excited about it, here's some of the best reactions.

03:19 | They Gave Them A Hurl
In our other segment, They Gave Them A Hurl, Paris Gaels demonstrated hurling at a European cultural sports festival during the 2024 Olympics. Local French children got a chance to try hurling and even Tánaiste, Micheál Martin, jumped in to demonstrate it as well.
