Chordplay - The Chords Of Kyuss

Описание к видео Chordplay - The Chords Of Kyuss

Here's the next episode of Chordplay with The Chords Of Kyuss. As I mentioned at the end of the previous episode for Queens Of The Stone Age, I had another idea to showcase the low/growling C-tuning and this episode reveals some of Kyuss's stoner/desert rock secrets at the same time - so let's dive in!

As I mentioned in this episode, I've been playing around with C-tuning over the last week (or so) and devoted a larger set of strings to accommodate the tuning on my PRS Vela. Truth be told, I've really been inspired and fully exploring this interesting (and bouncy) tuning. So much so, that I've written a number of new songs/riffs this week and might be in the early stages of recording a new EP of music using this dark/heavy tuning. Needless to say, playing around with and exploring different tunings on the guitar can be very inspiring and I can state that as a fretboard fact!

The rhythm guitar and chord-based ideas shared in this lesson come from Kyuss songs such as 'Catamaran,' 'Thee Ol' Boozeroony,' 'Demon Cleaner,' 'Whitewater,' 'Freedom Run,' and the extra-sludgy riffage from the deep-cut fan-favorite 'Fatso Forgotso.'

If you're a Kyuss/Josh Homme fan or just a player searching for some new ideas and tunings to explore, not to mention wrapping your ears around some of these desolate and dark riffs and ideas from a legendary desert rock band - this lesson is totally for you! Give this episode a view, leave some comments/feedback, and please subscribe to Late Night Lessons - THANK YOU!
