Westerwaldlied is a German folk song written in 1932 by Willi Münker and published in 1937. The song pays tribute to the low mountain range of Westerwald of Western Germany. Although considered an innocuous folk song for decades, in light of recent years, the song has become somewhat controversial due its association with the Nazi era and the German military during World War 2.
