Civilians on board Philippine fishing boats sailed on Wednesday (May 15) towards a disputed reef - Scarborough Shoal -in the South China Sea. This comes two weeks after the latest maritime incident between the Philippines and China. Associate Professor Eduardo Araral from the National University of Singapore's Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy noted that the two countries have taken a strong stance but that they are "nowhere near any solution". The best way forward for now is to go back to the arrangements they have had in the past to allow time and space for diplomatic solutions, he told CNA's East Asia Tonight.
