Griba nursery - a company movie

Griba nursery is an agricultural cooperative of 14 members and was founded in 1987 in South Tyrol-Italy. Right now Griba has 3 main activities:
The Nursery
Griba members produce almost 3 mln fruit trees/year! The main product are apple trees, but the cooperative produces also pears and cherry trees. Our strengths are that the single nurseries are focused on the production and fast know- how exchange which allows a continuous increase in quality and ability to produce high quantities of trees on high quality standards. All trees are produced in the region of Verona and Ferrara and the single nurseries are located within a 20 km radius from Griba‘s own cooling facility storage.
We are producing the latest generation varieties and clones of apples, which will be your commercial advantage in your agriculture company.
Our consulting services
Our consulting team travels around the globe helping fruit growers to plan and organize new orchards or modernize old ones. This service is focused to help customers to success in their investment. The team is supporting you with best practice in the different issues coming up in running a modern fruit orchard. The service can always be customized to each farm with different visits and online consulting.
Together with specialized partners, Griba offers “Turn-key projects” for the realization of fruit orchards.
Our apple breeding program
In 2008 Griba started its own apple breeding program.
The main goal of the breeding is to develop high quality apples, intended as juicy and crisp apples, good balance of sugar and acidity, nice appearance and good storability and shelf life. Grower friendly and scab resistant varieties are also important factors to consider.
Actually, we have more than 35.000 seedlings in the field and 15.000 that are evaluated every year.
