Flight to the groundling line, where the Union Glacier meets the Ronne Ice Shelf. Although there is seawater below the ice shelf, the open waters of the Weddell Sea are 600km (roughly 400 mi) away. Glaciologist, Ricardo Jaña measures the thickness and the effects of tides on the floating ice shelf.
