Welcome Corps sponsor liability

Sponsors for the new Welcome Corps refugee resettlement program will not be required to sign binding Affidavits of Support. The requirements of 8 USC 1183a, which imposes a personal financial liability on sponsors, will not apply to Welcome Corps participants. The Form I-864 is required only in family-based cases and very limited employment-sponsored matters.
