Описание к видео HPF error code

This video provides easy DIY fixes to fault find and rectify a HPF error code. As such, the reader will work through a systematic process of elimination and then ultimately carry out the repair. The information also covers a video by the author of this article.

What does HPF error mean?

An HPF error means the AC (air conditioning ) has diagnosed a high pressure fault, and the high pressure switch (in cooling mode) has tripped. Once tripped, this in-turn shuts down the system to prevent damage. Essentially this is a result of not enough seawater to cool the system or none at. Please keep in mind, some units have a safety restart of up to 15 minutes once the HPF is displayed. Check your operation manual to confirm if this is indeed the case for you. If it is, switch off the unit for up to 15 minutes, then restart accordingly when required.

HPF faultfinding process:
FORGETTING TO CLOSE THE AC SEACOCK: before lifting your boat for maintenance is one of the common reason for HPF. This allows the seawater cooling loop to drain out of the air conditioning system whilst the boat is on the hardstand. Then, when relaunching the boat back to water, air is trapped in the seawater pump and sometimes it can’t purge itself. As a result the unit can’t pump any seawater to cool the system and the high pressure coolant switch kicks in (HPT) and shuts the AC unit down
