The following guidelines assure you that your CFD simulation is a success. Check the quality of the mesh, scale the mesh and check the length unit, use the right physical models, set the energy under relaxation factor between 0.95 and 1, use node-based gradients with unstructured tetrahedral meshes, check the convergence with the residuals history, run the CFD simulation using the second-order discretization for better accuracy (not a faster solution), monitor the values of the solution variables to ensure that any change from one iteration to another is negligible, check the property conservation is satisfied, check the mesh dependence, and check to see if the logical solution is based on engineering judgment.
