Surrounding the woman’s head were 200 red deer teeth, likely part of a necklace or ceremonial garment, a sign of status or protection in her community. The newborn baby is particularly cradled in the wing of a swan—a symbol often associated with purity, transformation, and the transition between life and death in many cultures. At the baby’s hip lay a small flint knife, possibly representing the child's place in a society that highly valued tools and survival skills, even for the youngest members.
