Access to swimming pools is now easier for disabled people, thanks to the introduction of mobile pool hoists at the AC Baths and Tūrangi Turtle Pools.

The pool hoist allows a disabled person to have access to the swimming pool without the need for manual lifting from a carer, or the use of a ramp.

There is one hoist at each facility, which staff can move around the complex and anchor alongside any of the pools, even a private pool at the AC Baths.
