Smithsonian Launches A Kickstarter Campaign To Produce The 'Anthology Of Hip Hop' Collection

The Smithsonian is putting out an anthology of Hip Hop and Rap and they have launched a Kickstarter campaign to fund the project. The Smithsonian has already raised more than $114,000 dollars of its $250,000 dollar goal.

The project was developed by the Smithsonian and an advisory board including MC Lyte and Chuck D. it is a partnership between the Smithsonian's national museum of African American History and Culture and Smithsonian folkways recordings. It will include more than 120 tracks on 9 CDs, as well as a 300-page book with 10 essays,
