A review of the TV version (or anime version) of the Master Grade Wing Gundam from the anime series New Mobile Report Gundam Wing.

-- Production Notes -- (for me to look over in 6 months and laugh about lol)

- This video is technically a reupload of a previous review. However, I had to take it down and swap out the music, so I decided to make some updates. Below are the notes for the original version, followed by the notes for this updated version.

- I really tried to vary up the movement on the still images. I noticed it’s easy for me to fall into the habit of just zooming in for 75% of the shot. So in this review I zoomed out, panned, and even included a rotating shot.

- This is actually my second take at the Wing Gundam TV. It was originally my second or third review that I never finished because I knew I could do better. I straight up scraped it and moved on to the Shining Gundam review. Really makes me think how bad that original review must have been if the Shining Gundam review was an improvement lol. Anyway in this new review, I essentially started from scratch.

- I actually used 2-3 images from the original version of this review though, specifically the shot of the sticker sheet, the unpainted chest jewel and the unpainted waist section. I had painted this kit up since then, so having those old, unpainted images was really useful. It’s really obvious these are older shots though because of the lighting and color lol

-This review was edited really quickly. I’d say the editing only took about half of the time the Stamen or Ground Gundam took. I think it comes down to my new production order. I wrote the script first, got the footage, then went back to edit the script, and lastly recorded the audio. My footage is no longer bound to what audio I initially recorded and my review is more accurate because I can comment on things I find while filming. I’m really happy with it.

- I again tried to improve my audio, but it just isn’t working. I’ve really got no idea what I’m doing wrong. I’m using a $200 RODE mic, recording from a foot away, and I’ve got a little bit of sound proofing around the mic and the wall behind it. Then in Audacity I…1 – remove noise using 10 sec of room tone. 2 – Cut the audio down to 10 min. 3 – EQ with the focus on removing bass. 4 – Compress to even things out. Not quite sure what I could be doing differently….I’ll research during the hiatus. I’m thinking a pop filter might help out.

Here are the notes for this updated version:

- This was another extensive reworking. So lots of new stuff!

- Brand new audio from the ground up running off an updated script. I should've done more to the script, maybe add references to other kits, but since I didn't want to shoot any new footage, I decided to keep it pretty close to the original.

- Tighter editing to fit with the new audio. It's really quiet though. No idea why, and can't seem to fix it. Maybe it's an EQ thing? Everyone says this sounds good, but to me it's too boom-y. So I don't know. Might run some audio tests before the next review.

- Slowed down a lot of zoom-in's and slow things down a little and make cuts less jarring.

- New music

- Updated font

- Changed the Gimmicks to a 5 from a 4.5. Just made sense. Only issues I had with the gimmicks were nit-picks

- Re-edited the RAW images for better exposure. Looks a lot better, especially with the new color filter I added.

- New title card.

Wow, thanks for reading all that. I hope it helps you in whatever video production you do. Here's a reward:    • Видео
