Wise and Foolish Builder craft

“I wonder what happens when paper, scissors and glue come up against a storm?
Our craft today helps us understand the parable from Jesus about the wise and foolish builders.”

You will need:
⬜ 2 worksheets - Choose either the black and white or the colour version. (Link Below)
⬜ colouring crayons/pencils (if you’re using the B&W version)
⬜ scissors
⬜ glue-stick

(Colour in the images if you are using the B&W one).
Cut out the 2 sets of waves and clouds, and the paper strip with the house on it.

Next, cut along the solid black lines near the bottom of the main worksheet. Then cut along the 2 dotted lines above the sand.
Glue the clouds into place over the stormy clouds.
Slide the waves into place through the bottom lines, and slide the image of the house built on the sand through the other 2 slits.

(Reveal the storm clouds, and slide the flood waters up to the houses.
Then slide the sandy house over to show it being demolished).

Jesus told a story while He was teaching people God’s way to live.
He said that anyone who hears His words and does them is like a man who built his house on the rock. A storm came - the rain fell, and the flood waters rose, and the wind blew and beat on his house, but it didn’t fall because it was built on the solid rock.
But He also said that anyone who hears His words and doesn’t do them is like a man who built his house on the sand. When the rain fell, and the flood waters rose, and the wind blew and beat on his house, it fell and crashed to the ground, completely destroyed.

True wisdom only comes from God, so doing what Jesus taught us about Him is the wisest way to live. When we build our lives on Jesus, the Rock, we have the right foundation, no matter what comes our way.
