billion capture plus bricking - unbricking - updating to 8.1

have a working ADB directory and usb drivers for recognising the phone... google on adb to get that done!

first set developer options:
go to Settings - About phone - Build number and tap 7 times.. you now have developer options..
go back and in developer options set:
-enable oem unlocking
-usb debugging

then shut of the phone, reboot in fastboot mode with volume down + on/off

in windows: go to looking glass, type cmd + enter, you will get a dos screen type cd /adb

in adb:
fastboot devices (to check if the phone is recognised)
fastboot oem unlock-go

(when it get stuck after that, restart the fastboot mode with volume- and on/off buttons pressed)

fastboot flash recovery recovery.img (you should rename the version you want to flash to recovery.img and put in adb directory, you can work with copies so you have the original files)
fastboot boot recovery.img

i did this with recoverynotworking.img .... after shutting off and restarting recovery the first time the phone only showed the stock recovery...
then after 4 or 5 times flashing it showed the TWRP... but could do nothing in that... no mount no flashing nothing

but after that the phone got bricked... i only got the billion logo and blinking red light... phone would not start anymore...

then i went to search for the stock recovery to flash it back... first tried the mido version to see what this was.. but not even the touchscreen was working... but could flash it while phone stayed bricked...

stock recovery not to be found, could not extract from the update roms 7.1 and 8.1

there was on 4pda.ru someone who made a backup with a magicbox thing (150 usd) and that i could download... i extracted recovery and altered the name ? in recovery.img
this was working!! then i tried to flash the 7.1 and 8.1 stock? roms with stock recovery and adb sideload... not working... then i downloaded an update.zip file from 4pda.ru that was put on the Q and A from the seller...
first that started... failure... something with directories not there... then tried a second time... a miracle went down since there was some auto recovery for the directories in the phone... it took a while but after that i had a working 8.1 android phone!

when i tried to flash this same update to a new phone with stock recovery it did not work... i got a warning that encryption was gone... when i did the adb sideload (or put on the sdcard in the phone and tried update from sdcard in recovery) it gave only failures...

bottom line: you first have to brick it like i did to finally after a while getting a working update... because of the brick the authentication for the update will not give errors... and somehow there is a repair script inside the phone to work around/with the encryption...

i can give no single guarantee of course... but this is how it worked for me... working twrp is not to find or cannot download in 4pda.ru
