I own four (4) Trek Domanes - two Gen 3 SLR 7's and two Gen 4 SLR 7's. I like the Domane for a single reason - THE FIT! If you're looking for a road bike that can be used for spirited group rides (or even races), but has a shorter reach and a taller stack than a typical race bike, few bikes can compare to the Domane. That said, Trek's attention to detail, quality control, and engineering related to the IsoSpeed systems is seriously flawed. Every Domane I've had has had SIGNIFICANT issues related to the IsoSpeed system(s). The issues range from constant noise (clicking, creaking, popping, etc.) to seatpost slippage and lateral seatpost jiggling (not the intended movement). My local dealer has been very helpful with the warranty fixes, but I'm tired of making 45 minute (each way) trips to the bike shop and paying for labor (at times). I have four bikes, so being without a bike isn't a big deal for me, but buyer beware IF the Domane is going to be your only bike!
