The WORST and BEST part of any project-- FINISHING IT!

Описание к видео The WORST and BEST part of any project-- FINISHING IT!

🔹//DESCRIPTION\\

The video follows Jay as he works on various home improvement projects in his house, focusing primarily on laying new flooring and making other renovations upstairs.

The first major task is installing a cat door in the door leading downstairs, as Stephanie wants to give the family's cats more freedom to move around the house without being overwhelmed by the four dogs. He runs into some challenges cutting the hole for the cat door, but ultimately gets it installed.

Next, Jay turns his attention to the upstairs flooring. He notes that the existing door frames will need to be trimmed down to accommodate the new, thicker flooring. He also identifies some uneven areas in the subfloor that will require additional plywood to level out.

As Jay begins laying the new wood flooring, he runs into more complications. The transition between rooms proves tricky, and he has to get creative with using scrap wood to help secure the flooring and ensure a seamless look. He also has to remove and replace the stair tread to match the new floor height.

While working, Ellis discovers that an existing built-in storage bench needs to be removed. This turns into a messy project as the bench is heavily constructed and glued in place. After clearing that out, Ellis is able to get the 3/4" plywood down over the subfloor to prepare for the new flooring.

Midway through the project, Jay realizes he needs to add an additional electrical outlet for his son's gaming setup. Not being an electrician, he carefully researches how to properly tap into the existing wiring and install the new outlet safely. This involves drilling through some tricky framing, which he navigates as best he can.

As the flooring installation nears completion, Ellis decides he needs to drill a hole through the exterior wall to run the new internet cable for their Starlink system. He methodically measures and drills the hole, sealing it up afterwards to prevent any issues.

In the final stretch, Jay has to do some sanding and painting touch-ups to get the room back in order. He's relieved to be nearing the end of this extensive project, though he knows he'll have to repeat much of the same work in his daughter's room next.

Throughout the video, Jay demonstrates his problem-solving skills and determination to see the project through, even when faced with unexpected challenges. His willingness to learn new techniques and his attention to detail become clear as he navigates the various obstacles that arise during the home renovation process.
