Age-related macular degeneration symptom recognition TV advert

The Macular Disease Foundation Australia (formerly the Macular Degeneration Foundation) is launching a new national awareness campaign that will feature symptom recognition (Aug 2012). The new advertisement will continue to encourage people aged over 50 to "have an eye test and make sure the macula is checked" but will also communicate the symptoms of MD. As always, the vital importance of early detection is made clear.

The campaign will air on television across Australia from 13 August to 21 September 2012.

Australia continues to lead the world with regard to awareness of age-related macular degeneration which has a direct impact on early detection and saving sight. The ongoing national advertising campaign has been a key contributor to this outcome.
