Описание к видео How to Start Dehydrating Your Own Backpacking Meals & A Recipe to Try

If you're sick of eating $12 mediocre freeze dried meals, you should try dehydrating your own backpacking food! I used to be super intimidated to try this, but I have quickly learned how EASY it actually is. We have been dehydrating our own meals for about 2 years now, and we have saved a ton of $$$ on backpacking food while also enjoying far better meals in the backcountry.

Today I wanted to chat about how to get started, as well as give you a simple recipe to start with!

Here is the dehydrator we use: ** https://rstyle.me/+pKBZkblSQRzo7PDMB2...

TACO RECIPE:
Ingredients:
1 lb ground turkey
1/2 white onion
2 bell peppers (or many small peppers)
Jalapeño (we didn't have any, but it's a great addition if you like spice!)
1 tbsp minced garlic
1 1/2 cups dry rice (& cooked according to instructions)
1 can of corn
1 can of black beans
1 can of diced tomatoes
Spices: salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, cayenne (optional)

Recipe:
1. Start by dicing all of the veggies into small pieces.
2. Add turkey to a medium-hot pan & begin browning
3. Add veggies and stir until combined
4. Add spices (this is just going to be to taste once the turkey is cooked)
5. Add cooked rice, drained beans and corn and tomatoes and cook until combined.
6. Taste and adjust!!
7. Add the mixture in a thin layer to each tray of the dehydrator
8. Dehydrate at 160 for 12-14 hours (depending on how dry it is getting). Stir every 3-4 hours (if possible) to make sure it evenly dehydrates.
9. Separate into 5-6 bags and store
