Android has a built-in orientation icon that appears when you turn the smartphone or tablet 90-degrees.
If you're not a fan of this floating over your screen then you'll be happy to hear it can be disabled with a simple ADB shell command.

requirements
For you to complete this guide, though, you must have some things setup ahead of time.
As an example, you need to have Developer Mode enabled so you can turn the USB Debugging feature on.
You must also have ADB & Fastboot tools installed on your PC
You could execute these commands directly on the device if you have LADB setup, for example, but that isn't for everyone.

disabling the android orientation button
You'll see that even if you have the auto rotate screen feature disabled, that floating button will always appear if you turn your phone 90 degrees. you may even notice this icon appear when you only slightly tilt your phone one way or another.

But we can stop this from happening by having USB Debugging Mode enabled, and then connecting it to the PC with a USB cable.

Now, it's recommended to execute the adb devices command first, so you can make sure you have a stable connection here.
And then we can go straight to where we execute that command by first typing out adb shell

Press enter and you'll see the prompt shift from executing commands on your PC to running them directly on your phone.
And this is where you'll type out. . .

settings put secure show_rotation_suggestions 0
You won't see any success message here. So as long as you don't see an error appear. . .you've done all of this correctly.

And you will never see that icon appear in the corner of your phone. . .until you perform a factory data reset.
However, you could also manually enable this again by executing those same commands all over again.
Except this time, instead of using a zero at the end of the settings put command. . .replace it with a 1


conclusion
I can't tell you how often I've accidentally tapped this button by accident.
I do appreciate that it's a feature that's available on Android. . .but I wish we could easily disable it via the Settings like we can with the auto rotation feature.

Still, I always enjoy finding little tricks like this that are not explicitly available in the Settings application.
