Fishman Fluence Classic vs. EMG 89 (R), active Humbucker [ comparison / review clean & overdrive ]

With this video, I want to help you making your decision, if you are interested in installing active Humbuckers. And I was interested too, how big the difference would be. Use a good headphone ore studio monitors and you will hear a lot of nuances.

I am playing a lot of different stiles / snippets and concentrated my attention on the clean sounds. There are some overdrive sounds as well, but I think in mostly the distortion evens out the nuances of the Pickups and you`ll perceive more details about the the distortion sound of my tubes, than about the pickups themselves. Just one thing is special about distortion: With some pickups your distortion pedal ore amp can handle dissonant intervals better than with overs !!! Listen to my example at minute 07:00
Of cause the mid-, treble- and bass- response changes a bit from pickup to pickup, but often it`s more about the "feel" while playing and you could shape the slight differences in terms of distortionsound by using the equalizer of your amp.
Anyway, all the sound examples are recorded and with the same microphones, same amp setting, same mix in my DAW
