Romania to join Schengen Zone but land-border crossing checks will remain

Romania and Bulgaria had been trying to join the Schengen area for more than a decade but concerns over border controls have delayed their bids… until now. A partial deal has been struck to allow Romania to join with checks at air and sea crossings lifted in March but land borders will still be closely monitored.
