By default, you can’t log in to the root account via SSH on Ubuntu. This is a security feature because you would not want someone gaining root access to your server through brute forcing the root password in SSH. However, it is easy enough to enable root login if you want to. This tutorial will show you how to enable root login. Once it’s enabled, you can access the Ubuntu server with the root user.

Step1:
Log in to the Ubuntu server and open the "sshd_config" file

Step 2:
Find the line "# PermitRootLogin prohibit-password" and change it to "PermitRootLogin yes"

Step 3:
Restart the SSH service via this command "sudo systemctl restart sshd".
