The Turkish actor, who traveled to the event held by Isos Media Group at the Enjoy Hotel in Punta del Este and which will end tomorrow, Friday, April 5, reviewed, in a talk with the Argentine actress Isabel Macedo, from his beginnings in acting, to his present as a producer, which is why he is in Punta Show.

– When did your desire to be an actor begin?

-I started washing dishes when I was 10 years old. Fifteen years later I was opening my own bars. Many people from production companies went to the last bar I had, and they told me to be an actor, until they convinced me.

-Your two passions came together, right? Because you played the character of a chef.

-That's how it is. Thanks for knowing. In this project it didn't cost me much, because in the gastronomic field I became a chef and then worked in the dining room.

– I am very impressed by the growth you have had as an actor. Here we are big fans of Turkish series.

-I am too (laughs)..

It is shocking to see your growth as an actor, to tell the story, how your characters grew as the years go by.

-Thank you, it is a pleasure to share a scene with you, you have a great character for creating characters. Being an actor is the effort of being another person. When you use your mind, you simply cannot be another person. When you believe in your feelings, you can take that character representation to the best level. The more you let go of logic, the better actor you are. In my sector, there are actors much better known than me, because it is difficult for me to put logic aside. That's why I used it to produce.

– How did the desire to have your own production company come about?

-In Turkey there are very famous and good production companies that opened the Turkish market to the world, they inspired me, I wanted to have my own contribution. On the set, as an actor, I saw and wanted to contribute, that's why I wanted to do it. I could see at fairs what other production companies were missing, and that's how I got here.

– Could it be a bit of a desire to tell a story that was not told?

-Yes, exactly. I want to expand my culture with stories already told but in a different way, or that have not been told. We create highly valued films in the artistic sector, which explain the culture very well. At the production company we have managed to get almost all the awards. Also, for example, where I come from, the Aegean Sea, almost all civilizations passed through there. Troy, the 300 Spartans, that is in Türkiye. Even the birth and death of Jesus was close to my country. Those stories were always told from the American or European point of view, and I try to tell them from our culture.

– How was your experience in co-production with Caracol TV in Colombia?

-As I said before, there were spaces that were not full at the fairs. When our production companies make successful projects, they first do them in Türkiye and then expand them. And I realized that there was no project created in Türkiye that was first broadcast abroad. As a goal, I had Colombia. We got a Colombian protagonist who we took to Turkey and recorded 120 episodes, and with Caracol TV we distributed it in Colombia. We were the first production company to produce and distribute first for another country. There are very successful production companies in the country, and in order to be among the best, I had to do what the others did not. I didn't want to take anyone's cake, but rather make the cake bigger.

– What upcoming productions do you have in mind?

-We have a project recorded in Iraq. Our goal is to convey it with Hollywood and even take it to the Oscars. We always saw the conflict between Iraq, Syria, and so on from the American side. What the director wanted was to give the Iraqi point of view in this situation. There is love, war and drama, and we wanted to convey it in the most real way possible. I also have a project with my beloved wife, who is the protagonist, which I hope will be completed soon. I want to record a movie, then a series here in Uruguay, and I would love to have you for that occasion.

-They are all witnesses, then. It would be spectacular to receive you. We know that there is Neslihan too, who is the protagonist of the only Turkish series that won an Emmy, sold to more than 110 countries. At some point we actors stop being from the place where we were born and are souls of the world. We wanted to know if the series with Neslihan is Trace of Love, or not.

-With Neslihan we are doing another project. Trace of love already has 15 episodes recorded with other of the most recognized actors in the country.
