Malappuram: The house where Mampurum Syed Alavi, who played a major role in laying the foundation of the spiritual mind of Malabar, keeps his memories alive. It is believed that the house was built in 1820, located a little to the east of Mampuram Makham on the banks of Kadalundi River. The two-room main house with verandahs on three sides has not undergone any changes other than polishing to survive the collapse. All the ancients are still preserved....

Sayyid Alawi Mawla al-Dawilah al-Husayni Thangal was a Hadrami Islamic scholar who settled at Mampuram in Kerala, India. His tomb, also located in Mampuram, is considered one of the greatest pilgrimage centers in southern India. His son was Sayyid Fadl, also known as Fazal Pookoya Thangal.
