Royal icing dripping effect down the side of a cake tutorial.
In this cake decorating tutorial I show you how to create a 'candle wax drip cake' effect using royal icing, this is a very popular effect with cake decorators and is fairly quick and simple to do too! It's all about getting the consistency of your royal icing right, thick enough to hold it's self and set in place but not so thick that it cannot drip down the cake. The only things you need to create this dripping effect on a cake is a piping bag ( with a nozzle ) and royal icing.
