Speaker:
Luofeng Huang is a PhD and Research Associate at Marine Research Group of University College London. His research focuses on computational modelling for Arctic sea ice and ship operation, and he worked for the European Union's Horizon 2020 project SEDNA: Safe maritime operations under extreme conditions; the Arctic case. He graduated from the famous OpenFOAM course at Chalmers; then he created UCL OpenFOAM user community upon came back and is now active in OpenFOAM teaching and constancy at UCL. Based on OpenFOAM, he developed the first fully-coupled hydroelastic solver that has wide applications in the field of marine science and engineering. Computational results from his research have been published in prestigious journals such as Marine Structures, Ocean Engineering and Ships and Offshore Strutures.
