This film explains Operation Varsity. Original finding aid caption: Units of the British and American Armies are joined to form the First Allied Airborne Army under the command of Lt. Gen. Lewis H. Brereton. The army makes the first glider borne invasion of Germany when gliders and paratroops drop near Wesel, Germany, March 1945. Their main target is the concentration of German artillery controlling the Rhine at that point. The film shows the preparation and take off of the men in their planes and gliders, the jump, and landing of the gliders and paratroops, and some of the ground operations. The film's narration explains the particulars of all these operations.
