Motivations in Making Decisions - William Cardinal Goh (Homily - 20 Dec 2024)

Every day, we are called to make choices that shape our lives and reflect our deepest motivations. Today’s readings challenge us to examine the heart behind our decisions. Are we like King Ahaz, driven by fear and pride, or like the Blessed Virgin Mary, who humbly pondered God’s will and embraced it with faith?

Mary’s example of contemplation, discernment, and trust in God invites us to say “yes” to His greater plan. She shows us that with humility and faith, even the seemingly impossible can be accomplished when we align ourselves with God’s will.

What can I learn from Mother Mary about listening, discerning, and responding to God's call with faith and humility?
