Drop-ins are the quickest red flag to let everyone on the lineup know who to pick on. Aside from breaking the most basic foundation rule of surfing etiquette and/or being a complete kook, it can also be dangerous and ruin someone else’s ride of their life. The only acceptable instance is when you purposely cut someone off in case they had previously snaked you…even then, “Play stupid games, win stupid prizes”! So, ALWAYS look to the peak before even paddling, to see if someone else is already up and riding.
