History Makers Kate and Helen Richardson-Walsh are a sporting power couple!

Kate was capped a record 375 times for her country and was the England and Great Britain Captain for 13 years, making her the most capped female for Great Britain.

Helen also has some incredible accolades – at 18, at the 2000 Sydney Olympics, she became the youngest female hockey player to represent Great Britain at an Olympic Games. Helen also scored one of Great Britain's two penalties in the deciding penalty shoot-out in the 2016 Rio Olympics Hockey final against the Netherlands

Kate and Helen Richardson-Walsh made history becoming the first same-sex married couple to win an Olympic Gold medal together in Rio 2016 – which was the first time in history that Great Britain had won gold in Hockey.

In 2017, the couple were both awarded honours, making them the first same-sex married couple to be honoured on the same list.
